| SACRIFICE SCENE - FADE UP FROM BLACK. EXTREME CLOSE-UP of the DEMON's amber eyes (i.e. the space probe's cameras). Realistic, digital sounds of nature: wind, maybe a few bird or frog sounds, slightly modified so that they seem alien. ZOOM-OUT from the eyes until EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DUSK, MEDIUM SHOT. In the hills. T'UUPIEH's POV, over her right shoulder, we can see one wing. T'UUPIEH holds the DEMON (space probe) in her hands.
- CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH (REVERSE SHOT): her narrow, pale alien face with shining red eyes.
- MEDIUM SHOT of T'UUPIEH's POV again. She steps forward and gently places the DEMON on a small hill, about 1 m above the ground. Tenderly, she strokes its 'head' (a dome on its upper side) once.
- EXTREME LONG SHOT. Bird's eye view of the swamps. The camera is gliding over grey-green marshland, a few hills, some small lakes. Sounds of nature, faint music (strings).
- LONG SHOT, from the ground again. Focus on the black silhouette of a Titanese TRAVELLER wandering through the marshes, passing some hills. Over his shoulder, he is carrying a bag. In a subtle way, the music is getting a little louder and more dramatic.
- MEDIUM SHOT. Music stops, loud thud! Something jumps from the air into the TRAVELLER's back, almost causing him to fall.
- CLOSE-UP. The attacker is T'UUPIEH! Under her hood, we recognise her face. With her right hand, she presses her long dagger to the TRAVELLER's throat. With her left hand, she is sealing his mouth with a cloth. The TRAVELLER is coughing.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH lowers her weapon, pressing it to the TRAVELLER's back. Rudely, she pushes him to the right, out of the frame.
- LONG SHOT. The hills of (1-3) again. It would be almost dark by now, but Saturn in the evening sky illuminates the scene. Nature sounds. The camera pans around to give an overview of the situation: The DEMON sits unchanged on its hill. The TRAVELLER is sitting on the ground, all tied-up. T'UUPIEH is sitting on the ground closer to the hill with the DEMON. She pulls out metal artefacts from the TRAVELLER's bag: something that looks like a crown, a couple of thick bracelets, etc. Next to her lies an open book.
- MEDIUM CLOSE SHOT. T'UUPIEH faces the camera. She is holding the old, occult-looking book. The title is in alien characters, but the writing looks vaguely like 'NGOSS'.
T'UUPIEH (reading carefully) Demons hoard metal. They need it to sustain their strength.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH picks up two of the bracelets and walks toward the demon. She kneels down. Faint synthesiser chords that sound... ceremonial? romantic?
- CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH's face (REVERSE SHOT/DEMON's POV), HIGH-ANGLE CAMERA. She looks up to the demon.
- MEDIUM SHOT, LOW-ANGLE CAMERA. T'UUPIEH's POV, over her right shoulder, looking up to the DEMON's 'face' (eyes and mouth are visible). She stretches out her hands, and places the artefacts in the DEMON's 'mouth'. Louder, more intense synthesiser music. ZOOM-IN to the demon's amber eyes. Slowly, they fade into a blurred EXTREME CLOSE-UP of SHANNON's real, light brown eyes.
- BLACK FADE. Almost silence, except for some computer noises. Zoom-out from an image on SHANNON's computer screen of T'UUPIEH kneeling to INT. EARTH OFFICE DAY, MEDIUM SHOT, SHANNON's POV, over his left shoulder (he wears a red jumper). A window pops up, occupying a third of the screen so that T'UUPIEH's face is still visible. It shows an image of the bracelet and an amount of data.
- CLOSE-UP of SHANNON's face as REVERSE SHOT. We see parts of his long hair (which is bound together) and his unshaven cheeks and chin. His light brown eyes shine as he smiles.
SHANNON Thank you.
- MEDIUM SHOT, SHANNON's POV, over his left shoulder. He has leaned forward a little more, and starts playing the futuristic synthesiser keyboard in front of him, careful to hit the right chords. We hear two chords. They sound similar to those used on Titan as background music, but not as harmonic. ZOOM-IN to the computer screen.
- BLACK FADE. EXTREME CLOSE-UP of the DEMON's amber eyes. The synthesiser chords are replaced by sounds of nature. ZOOM-OUT from the eyes until EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DUSK, MEDIUM SHOT. T'UUPIEH's POV, over her right shoulder. Camera moved to LOW-ANGLE position since T'UUPIEH is sitting on the ground.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT, more from the side. T'UUPIEH is sitting in a comfortable position, reading her book. When the DEMON's 'head' (dome) starts to glow, she glances up with expectation.
- CLOSE-UP of the DEMON's 'face' (eyes, mouth, speakers).
DEMON (artificially, with a strong accent) That was very... helpful. Praises... to you... T'uupieh.
- CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH's face (REVERSE SHOT). She is laughing, almost like a child. Faint synthesiser chords again, in a harmonic Titanese fashion.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH gets up. She is holding her opened book.
- CLOSE-UP of her face. She reads aloud from the book.
T'UUPIEH (mischievously) Demons feed on the flesh of men and women.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. Loud, joyful synthesiser music. T'UUPIEH is dragging the captured TRAVELLER towards the hill with the DEMON. The TRAVELLER is clearly panicking. He is trying to protest and to free himself, but cannot do much since he is tied-up.
- MEDIUM SHOT, LOW-ANGLE CAMERA. T'UUPIEH's POV, over her right shoulder. Kneeling, she is trying to stuff one of the TRAVELLER's big wings into the small mouth of the DEMON. When she has finally managed to force it in somehow, by pressing and folding it, the DEMON spits out the wing immediately. The body almost hits T'UUPIEH, almost causes her to lose balance.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT of the TRAVELLER. The wing looks somewhat damaged. He is moaning.
- CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH's red eyes. The chords get disharmonic and more quiet: She is confused.
- MEDIUM SHOT (REVERSE SHOT). T'UUPIEH's POV of the DEMON, over her right shoulder. ZOOM-IN to the DEMON's amber eyes. They fade into a blurred EXTREME CLOSE-UP of SHANNON's real, light brown eyes.
DIALOGUE 1 - BLACK FADE. Sudden silence except for some computer noises. ZOOM-OUT from TUUPIEH's image on SHANNON's computer screen to INT. EARTH OFFICE DAY, MEDIUM SHOT, SHANNON's POV, over his left shoulder.
- CLOSE-UP (REVERSE SHOT) of SHANNON's face. He sighs.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. DEEP FOCUS. SHANNON is slowly wandering around in his office. We see some of the personal items in the otherwise clinical environment: books, a poster of the band Tiamat, a framed CD. SHANNON pauses.
- CLOSE-UP of the CD on the wall. It is a platinum album award for 'Shannon Wyler. Songs of Titan.'
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT of SHANNON. The focus is on him, the background blurred now. He tucks up his sleeves, and walks back to the computer. He picks up a set of headphones. Rock music slowly fading in that emphasises his determination.
- CLOSE-UP of SHANNON's face, with headphones on.
SHANNON (to catch T'UUPIEH's attention) T'uupieh!
- MEDIUM SHOT (REVERSE SHOT), SHANNON's POV of the computer, over his left shoulder. He has leaned forward, plays the synthesiser. We hear the chords.
SHANNON (synchronously with the chords) You are going to... kill... your sister... and two innocent children.
ZOOM-IN to the screen. On it, T'UUPIEH is sitting on the ground.
- BLACK FADE. EXTREME CLOSE-UP of the DEMON's amber eyes. The synthesiser chords have been replaced by sounds of nature. ZOOM-OUT from the amber eyes until EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DUSK, MEDIUM SHOT, LOW-ANGLE. T'UUPIEH's POV, over her right shoulder.
DEMON (artificially, with a strong accent) How do you... feel... about that?
- CLOSE-UP (REVERSE SHOT) of T'UUPIEH's brightened face.
T'UUPIEH (enthusiastically, without hesitation) That the new day cannot come soon enough for me!
- MEDIUM SHOT OF T'UUPIEH, sitting on the ground. She is holding her dagger.
T'UUPIEH (almost fanatical) I have waited so long – too long – to take my revenge on Klovhiri! My sister and her brats are a part of his foulness...
She slams the dagger into the ground. T'UUPIEH (louder, sarcastically) ...better slain before they multiply!
DIALOGUE 2 - MEDIUM LONG SHOT. Nature sounds. T'UUPIEH is waiting for a reply. She lies down on her back, puts the TRAVELLER's bag under her head. Comfortable music (strings).
- LONG SHOT. Apparently bored of the situation, T'UUPIEH releases the TRAVELLER into the swamps.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT, HIGH-ANGLE CAMERA, suggesting that the DEMON is watching. T'UUPIEH is lying face down. Illuminated by a glowing green torch that is stuck into the ground, she is reading her book. The camera is moving around her slightly.
T'UUPIEH (voice-over, softly) I know you are immortal, my demon. You have all the time in the world. Only sometimes... I wish you would show a little more... consideration for your humble ally's mortality.
- MEDIUM SHOT of the demon. ZOOM-IN to its amber eyes. They fade into a blurred EXTREME CLOSE-UP of SHANNON's real, light brown eyes.
- BLACK FADE. The music stops. ZOOM-OUT from TUUPIEH's image on SHANNON's computer screen: She is still resting on her back as in (38), so innocently... To INT. EARTH OFFICE DAY, MEDIUM SHOT, SHANNON's POV, over his left shoulder.
- MEDIUM SHOT of SHANNON (REVERSE SHOT). He is wearing headphones. The focus is on him, the background is blurred. He is taking a deep breath, then plays new synthesiser chords.
SHANNON (a bit more desperately) But the children have... harmed... no one.
- MEDIUM SHOT, SHANNON's POV, over his left shoulder. He is leaning forward.
SHANNON (synchronously with the chords) And Ahtseet is... your only... sister. She... and the children... are your only... blood kin. She has shared your life.
ZOOM-IN to the screen on which we see T'UUPIEH lying on her back (i.e. as in (38), not yet (40)).
- BLACK FADE. EXTREME CLOSE-UP of the DEMON's amber eyes. The synthesiser chords are replaced by sounds of nature. ZOOM-OUT from the eyes until EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DUSK, MEDIUM SHOT, LOW-ANGLE CAMERA. T'UUPIEH's POV, over her right shoulder. She is sitting close to the DEMON again.
DEMON (artificially, with a strong accent) You say that once you...
- CLOSE-UP (REVERSE SHOT) of T'UUPIEH's face. She frowns.
- MEDIUM SHOT, LOW-ANGLE CAMERA. T'UUPIEH's POV of the DEMON, over her right shoulder.
DEMON (artificially, with a strong accent) ...cherished... her for that. Doesn't... what she once... meant to you... mean anything now? Isn't there any... love left... to slow your hand... as you raise it against her?
- MEDIUM SHOT (REVERSE SHOT) of T'UUPIEH. She gets up.
T'UUPIEH (disgusted) Love!!
She throws her hands into the air. T'UUPIEH (incredulous) What speech is that, oh Soulless One?
- MEDIUM SHOT of the DEMON, HIGH-ANGLE CAMERA, POV T'UUPIEH, over shoulder. She grabs the demon with both hands, holding it far away from her face.
- CLOSE-UP (REVERSE SHOT) of T'UUPIEH who faces the demon.
T'UUPIEH (angrily) You mock me. Love is a toy, my demon! And I have put my toys behind me.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH walking away, carrying the DEMON.
T'UUPIEH (more debating with herself now) And so has Ahtseet... she is no 'kin' of mine.
- EXT. TITAN ROCKS DUSK. LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH has reached a large field of rocks.

She lays down the demon, then fanatically throws her hands into the air. T'UUPIEH (calling out loud) Be-trayer!
We hear the echo, 'Betrayer, betrayer...', while the shot fades into...
- EXTREME LONG SHOT. Bird's eye view of the gigantic field. The camera pans over the grey rocks. We cannot find the DEMON anymore, it has disappeared, become one of the rocks. Depressive music (strings).
CAMPFIRE SCENE - EXT. TITAN CAMP DUSK. LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH is walking into the background towards some green light. Shift of focus from foreground to background. She is walking towards a campfire. Around a yellow-greenish fire lie T'UUPIEH's gang of outlaws, wrapped into rags and blankets, sleeping. Quiet synthesiser music with many 'voices' simultaneously, like a choir. Y'LIRR, a strong Titanese man of middle age (T'UUPIEH's second in command) notices her approach, and slowly rises from his sleeping place.
- MEDIUM SHOT of T'UUPIEH. LOW-ANGLE CAMERA/Y'LIRR's POV.
T'UUPIEH (accusingly) Demons! You cannot trust them...
- MEDIUM SHOT of Y'LIRR (REVERSE SHOT). HIGH-ANGLE CAMERA/T'UUPIEH's POV.
Y'LIRR (sleepily) Yeah, may be a reason why demon pacts have been outlawed. Must be part of their nature.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT of T'UUPIEH working on the fire, throwing in some new branches.
- CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH's face. She looks agitated.
T'UUPIEH 'Course it is! It says so in the Book of Ngoss! 'To walk among demons, expect what cannot be expected, believe what cannot be believed, comprehend what cannot be comprehended...'
- MEDIUM CLOSE SHOT (REVERSE SHOT) OF Y'LIRR's face. He smiles.
Y'LIRR (matter-of-factly) T'uupieh, go to sleep.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT of T'UUPIEH's back, in front of the camp. Focus shift from background to foreground. T'UUPIEH turns around, and walks away, into the direction she came from.
FLASHBACK - EXT. TITAN ROCKS DUSK. LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH looks for the DEMON, picks it up, and carries it away. Same depressive music as in shot (53), but quietly in the background.
- EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DUSK. MEDIUM SHOT. T'UUPIEH's POV. No more music, only sounds of nature. She puts the DEMON back on the hill, without visible emotion.
- LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH is wandering around the hills, then sits down on the most isolated one. Silence.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH draws her bow and arrows, looks down from the hill, aims at nothing in particular.
- EXTREME LONG SHOT, HIGH-ANGLE CAMERA, T'UUPIEH's POV. She looks down onto wide marshland. There is a small lake. Ground fog that shimmers golden.
- MEDIUM LONG SHOT. T'UUPIEH puts away the bow, wraps herself more closely in her cloak, and pulls up the hood.
- High-contrast CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH's pale face framed by the dark hood, lit by the bright light of Saturn in the black night. She is shivering. This image stays on for a few seconds.
- EXTREME LONG SHOT, T'UUPIEH's POV as in (65), but even HIGHER ANGLE for the camera. The golden mist dissolves into...
- EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DAY. Flashback filmed in brownish (or yellowed) black-and-white to indicate a warm past. Cheerful flute music. LONG DOLLY SHOT (right to left) that follows YOUNG T'UUPIEH (a Titanese girl of maybe 9 years) and YOUNG AHTSEET (a Titanese girl of maybe 6 years) as they practise flying. Elegantly, they are spreading their wings, letting themselves fall from a hill top, gliding over a lake, almost touching the water (or whatever liquid it is, since H2O would be frozen on Titan). Shortly before reaching the shore, YOUNG T'UUPIEH mockingly hits YOUNG AHTSEET who goes down with a splash. YOUNG T'UUPIEH lands on the shore. Then she is worried, and walks back into the water to go looking for her sister, who is nowhere to be seen. Then suddenly, YOUNG AHTSEET emerges from the water and laughingly splashes water over her elder sister. Both are laughing.
- EXT. TITAN SWAMPS DUSK. CLOSE-UP of T'UUPIEH's face as in shot (67). The music has stopped. T'UUPIEH breathes out in relief, reliving the worries for her sister... BEAT. T'UUPIEH's face assumes a darker expression. Slowly, she is shaking her head.
T'UUPIEH (shouting) No! There is no regret!
